MONDAY, JULY 28, 2008, 11:15 AM.
BRR Today Boardroom Radio welcomes the Chief Executive Officer of USCOM, Mr. Paul Butler. Welcome to Boardroom Radio, Paul.
10 UCM Thank you, Terence. USCOM is non-invasive cardiac output monitor. We have developed the product here in Australia and we have gained regulatory approval around the world. We are now working on expanding the marketing opportunities in all the major markets.
15 BRR Paul, the Company did release some pretty positive results out this week, providing an update to shareholders about your 2008 financial year results.
UCM Yes, it has been a turnaround year for USCOM. We have had to focus very much on maintaining building our revenue stream and keeping it close on the costs. As every company in the life sciences sector in Australia, we all have
20 to be very cautious of availability of capital and how we use it. We have focused our efforts on building the key markets and making sure all of our expenses go towards building revenue.
BRR Paul, you have achieved solid growth in all of your target markets as you
25 have mentioned and identified some paths forward to accelerate entering to the US market.
UCM First, we have relocated to the US primarily to identify potential strategic marketing partners. This has been quite successful and we have identified several people that we are working with. Being in the market and doing sales
30 calls has allowed me to get a better appreciation of the needs of the market and how we can work with particular partners to achieve success. This is an important market for us.
BRR Paul, one of USCOM’S principles is to establish a new standard of care in
35 medical monitoring, and this year, there was a publication of a number of studies moving you further towards this goal.
UCM Yes, we have had several studies published and also the technology being adopted by key opinion leaders both in the US and in Asia. We have some key studies coming out that will really put the final tick against the idea of
40 confirming our technology against the gold standard.
BRR Great speaking with you today on USCOM and we look forward to chatting with you again in the next opportunity.
UCM Okay, thank you, Terence.
