MONDAY, AUGUST 11 2008, 01:00 PM.

BRR    Good morning and welcome to Boardroom Radio. Today, we are speaking with Mr. John Kelly, managing director of Republic Gold Limited. Thanks for

10                    joining us today, John.

RAU     Thanks again for having me, Eddie.

BRR    John, we see today that you’ve announced the completion of the joint research project that you’ve been involved with, with the CSIRO and DME

15                    Hodgkinson. Did you want to give our listeners an update on what’s been happening?

RAU     Yes, sure thing, Eddie. One of the things that the company has been doing very well for a number of years is the resource modelling, using very high-tech computer technology. We’re very, very good at that and at the front-end

20                    of our exploration asset, it’s been less high-tech, still lots of uses of computers in our database but apart from that it’s just been our geologists there slugging away on the ground. What we’ve done with the CSIRO and with the Queensland geological survey is move towards having a high-tech front-end to our exploration asset. These guys have taken all the data that

25                    we’ve got for Hodgkinson basin which is their main area for exploration in (inaudible) (00:01:08) Queensland and they’ve modelled it and they’ve come up with models that we will be able to use to direct our exploration assets. This is reasonably new sort of work in Australia but we’re very hopeful that we can get something very positive out of it in the coming (inaudible) (00:01:5)

30                    season and probably next year by the time we have a chance to have the boys go out and do some work later on this  (inaudible) (00:01:35) and once drilling is finished and then we’ll try and (inaudible) (00:01:36)

BRR    And, John, this high-tech resource modelling that you’ve incorporated, has it

35                    been used previously and what was the success that they had with that?

RAU     Yes, sure thing, Eddie. It has been used before. We’re not the first company that’s been involved with CSIRO in this sort of work. CSIRO have worked with the (inaudible) (00:01:55) mine down in Western Victoria over the past couple of years doing exactly the same sort of thing and out of that effort came a

40                    brand-new ore body at the (inaudible) (00:02:05) mine. So this is not a very …..stuff but the geologists are kind of trying to get something out but there is a real-life example that we’re very familiar with on how it actually has worked and we’ve been very, very successful.

45        BRR    And I guess, John, just lastly, what are the plans moving forward now that you have this technological resource available?

RAU     Well, our geologists and particularly our chief geologist, Chris Roberts, is very happy with the work that CSIRO has done so the next step for us is to engage with CSIRO in another project for our Burraga copper and base metals project down in New South Wales and do exactly the same thing down there. We’ve got a lot of data on Burraga and all that data is able to be fed into the model and so we’ll be starting in early September with CSIRO to work at a program for them to do the same sort of thing down at Burraga.

BRR    Certainly some exciting time ahead of Republic Gold. John, we thank you for your time today and we look forward to speaking to you soon.

RAU     Thank you very much, Eddie.

10        BRR    That was John Kelly, managing director of Republic Gold Limited. If you have any questions about this broadcast or any other broadcast, please feel free to contact us on brr@brr.com.au. I’m Eddie (inaudible) (00:03:28) and thank you for listening to Boardroom Radio.
